One.

There is but one movie that stands out from the rest of horror films. One movie that surpasses each and every achievement within movies. One movie that is more messed up than any you will ever see. And it's name?
Silent Hill.
I've only recently watched this movie, and I dissapointed in myself for not seeing this sooner. I think the closest thing this movie can be compared to is Resident Evil, but even Resident Evil isn't that messed up. The only thing that ruined this movie though, was the ending, but when I say ending, I don't exactly mean the last few minutes, I mean approximately 20 minutes before the end it got terrible, but fortunately, this bad part only lasted about five minutes, and then it got really good again.
This movie is twisted up in every little way. It is about a little girl named Sharon who sleepwalks off to dangerous places and screams "Silent Hill" before she wakes up. Her mother and father are worried and feel that they've had enough of risking her death. Her mother then pulls a stupid move and takes her daughter to a town named Silent Hill, which was destroyed in a fire and known to be extremely haunted. As her mother gets in to a crash, she awakes to find that her daughter is gone, and off she sets to journey through the town of Silent Hill, encountering things she probably thought could not even be imagined.
Here are some pictures of some of these things, they may not look like much, but I assure you that these things are 50x scarrier in the film.

I would try to describe what these pictures are to you, but I don't think it would do any good, as just one glimpse of these images give you the propper introduction to the film. What I think these images are however, is a very warped idea based on something else. For example, looking at this reminds me of a fantasy character that has been warped into a nightmareish form, as he is wearing a cage over his head, and is weilding a great sword. This character reminds me of death throughout the whole film, as he seems to be the most powerful of them all, excluding Alessa.

These sexy ladies are a warped image of nurses. The react only to light and to sound as their senses are not too strong. Their movements are quite spectacular actually and fit together perfectly with their looks. I think that these characters would appear as the scarriest in the film, mainly because of how they appear so still, and yet they twitch, and sense a human presence, when the human is not aware of it. It's also a beautiful twist of the idea of a nurse, when nurses are supposed to appear friendly and loving, these nurses look quite deadly and vengeful. Seeing these creatures was one of the best parts of the movie for me.

Lastly, we see a man all jumbled up with barbed wire. This character in my books, is the most beautifully thought up. There are surely more amazing characters than him throughout the movie, but because he looks almost ordinary, in this film we are reminded that nothing is ordinary, and how they have taken a simple man, and tied him up so fouly, I think he brings a lot of life to the movie.
